Airport Transfer

Transportation has been arranged only for those arriving on their official travel days i.e arriving on 13th January (12th for Medical and New Joiners) and departing on the 16th respectively.

*Please note:* If you plan to travel early and depart later than officially announced travel days for personal plans, you will need to arrange your own transportation individually and claim the charge. The average ride costs around 20-25 USD.

ACCOMMODATION

Your accommodation has been booked as per the dates communicated to CSL Vifor cycle planning committee. CSL Vifor will cover the cost of your bedroom and breakfast at The Nile Ritz Carlton.
 
Hotel Check-in:
Hotel check-in time is 15:00. However we will endeavor to have bedrooms ready for pre-advised early arrivals. Please note that as per the hotel policy, the Front Desk will ask all participants for a security deposit to cover for any potential room incidentals (minibar, telephone, laundry, etc.).  They will either preauthorize your credit card or ask for a cash deposit.
 
Hotel Check-out:
Please note that hotel check-out time is 12:00. You are kindly asked to settle any room incidentals or extras when checking-out from the hotel.
 
Internet:
For internet access instructions, please check with the hospitality desk for further assistance.
 
Breakfast:
Breakfast will be served in the hotel's main restaurant Culina between 6:30AM -10:30AM each day.

DINNERS

13th January 2025: Free Time for Colleagues where you can enjoy dinner at your own choosing and reclaim/reimburse through normal procedure with the meal limit at 50$.

14th January 2025: Group will meet in hotel lobby at 7.00PM. Each team will be transferred by a microbus to team building activity location (Khan El Khalili).

Afterwards, teams will head to dinner at Saheb El Saada https://maps.app.goo.gl/cBmBhZ3HrmzFcgHR6 at their own pace, but no later than 9:30 PM, to ensure you have enough time to enjoy the delicious food and the entertainment shows taking place at the venue. Microbuses will pick you up from the same place where the drop off took place starting at 11.00PM. Dress Code is Casual

USEFUL INFORMATION

Language
The official language is Arabic. Many people also speak English to an extent.

Currency
The currency of the Egypt is the EGP. Other currencies are normally not accepted. Many shops and restaurants in Cairo accept credit cards, but not all. It is therefore recommended to either ask before you order or ensure you have a sufficient amount in cash to cover the bill. Major credit cards (Visa, American Express, Eurocard / Mastercard, Diners Club) are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops.

Electricity
The standard voltage in Egypt is 220 volts with 50 Hz and outlets will fit plugs with the two round pins. Type C or Type F.

Tipping
Tipping is not mandatory but it is really expected in Egypt in many circumstances for service, especially at almost all sit-down restaurants which offer table service on and the average tipping amount is 5% of the total bill.

Taxis
Taxis are available throughout the city at various spots, especially around the main squares and in front of the hotels or shopping malls. They are generally not so expensive and often quicker than public transportation. Pay in cash; credit cards may not be accepted. Tips are not mandatory but expected and appreciated.

Security
Your bedroom has a safe, we recommend you place all valuables in such as credit cards and passports when not in use. We also recommend that you do not carry more cash with you than is necessary.
